1. January: Buenos Aires, Argentina

Average temperature: 25,1 °C

The neighbourhood of Boca is famous for its colourful houses

Kick-off the year in Buenos Aires, where January is one of the warmest months of the year. The capital of Argentina combines a European vibe with traditional Latin flavour, and offers a lot of things to do. Enjoy the street art in Boca, visit the Casa Rosada, try all kinds of sweets with ‘dulce de leche,’ go to a tango show – or even take a few tango lessons yourself!

Looking to add another country to your list? Then book a ferry to Montevideo, the capital of neighbouring Uruguay. The trip takes 2 hours and 15 minutes and it’s available from only 38 USD each way.

2. February: Medellín, Colombia

Average temperature: 24 °C

Medellín is warm all year around, but February is one of the least rainy months, which means the weather is perfect for exploring the colourful neighbourhoods of the city. Get loads of cool Instagram pictures around the city and take your time wandering around and discovering how this Colombian metropolis has reinvented itself over the last few years.

Fancy a dose of nature? Then head to the Arví Park, a huge nature preserve that is very easy to reach from Downtown Medellín. This impressive park has ample opportunities for trekking, cycling and several other adventure sports.

3. March: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Average temperature: 26,6 °C

Rio de Janeiro in March can only mean one thing: carnival. This world-famous event always takes place between February and March. In 2019, the celebrations officially go from March 2nd to 9th – and you shouldn’t miss them! Secure your tickets to the Sambadrome and get ready to enjoy one of the craziest street parties on the planet!

If you are planning to have an endless summer, surely you’ll want to spend a lot of time at the beach. In Rio, you can sunbathe at two of the most popular beaches in the world: Copacabana and Ipanema.

4. April: Miami, USA

Average temperature: 25 °C

With average temperatures of 24 °C throughout the year, we could say that in Miami it’s always summer. One of the best months to visit is May, right before it gets too warm and too crowded. Enjoy the colourful street art in the neighbourhood of Wynwood, roller skate along the promenade and get ready to enjoy some real party nights!

If you are looking for a day trip to get away from the city, we recommend you surround yourself with nature at the Everglades National Park. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to see some rare species, such as the manatee or the Florida panther.

5. May: Dakar, Senegal

Average temperature: 24 °C

Do you want to enjoy pleasant temperatures, catch some waves in some of the world’s best surfing spots and get a taste of African culture? Then Dakar is where you should go in May. The capital of Senegal was one of our Top 10 places to go in 2018, and there are many reasons for that.

Enjoy the lively streets, explore the colourful markets, relax by the beach and take a couple of day trips to explore the islands and the natural parks that surround the city.

6. June: Sicily, Italy

Average temperature: 29 °C

The white cliff of Scala dei Turchi is picture perfect.

At first sight, Sicily might seem like a small island – but it has plenty of things to offer! If you want to discover all the best spots on this Mediterranean island, you should plan for at least two weeks. Sicily is incredibly popular among tourists, especially Italians, but if you go at the beginning of the month you will be able to enjoy much of the island without the large crowds.

Fly to Catania or Palermo and then rent a car to be able to explore the island at your own pace. Some things you can’t miss: a hike up the volcano Etna, sunset by the white rocks of Scala dei Turchi, and the Ancient Greek temples of Agrigento or the Amphitheater of Taormina. Also, make sure you try the traditional cannoli and all of the different flavours of granita!

7. July: Marseille, France

Average temperature: 24,5 °C

Marseille is a city on the rise and a perfect place to enjoy the French Riviera if you are looking for an alternative to the fancier (and more expensive) destinations such as St. Tropez or Cannes. Walk around the colourful La Panier neighbourhood, discover the small artisan shops as you hike up the cobbled streets and don’t forget to try the bouillabaisse in one of the many restaurants along the coast line.

Among the many pebbled beaches, Pointe Rouge stands out for its fine sand, making it the perfect place to lie down and relax in the sun. The beach is located south of the city, away from the center, but it’s easy to reach by bus or by car. During the high season there is a boat that leaves from the Old Port of Marseille directly to Pointe Rouge.

8. August: Greek Islands, Greece

Average temperature: 28,4 °C

August is the month when most people go on holidays, so you should be patient and prepare for crowds almost everywhere. If you want to enjoy a combination of amazing weather, breathtaking landscapes and centuries of history in a laid-back Mediterranean style, head to the Greek islands!

Crete, Rhodes, Corfu, Lefkada… there are plenty of choices. If you’re finding it hard to choose one, just go island hopping! To have a more peaceful experience, avoid the main tourist spots and discover the best unknown Greek islands (as recommended in our recent article).

Catch an awesome sunset over the Tanah Lot Temple

However, you should pay attention to avoid the rainy season, which goes from May to October and can have up to 18 days of rain a month – not exactly what you’re looking for if you want to continue an endless summer!

November is one of the best times to go since the rain is over, the landscapes shine in bright colours and high season hasn’t started yet. Moreover, November is when you can enjoy the Loy Krathong, the Thai Festival of Lights. Read more about this and 12 more reasons to visit Bangkok.
