Situated on the fishing port of Cassis, Hotel Le Golfe is just 400 metres from the sandy beach. It features an ice-cream parlour and a shaded terrace overlooking the harbour. A flat-screen TV is provided in each air-conditioned guest room. Some rooms feature a balcony with sea views. All of the rooms have a simple décor and a private bathroom with amenities. Provencal cuisine, including seafood and salads, is served in the restaurant at Le Golfe hotel. A buffet breakfast is prepared every morning. Pros:The view is amazing overlooking the marina. The location is great because you step out the door of the hotel onto the marina and you can walk from there to any of the restaurants or around the marina to the beach.
Cons:The rest of the place was pretty awful. Hardly decorated except for a few oddly placed prints of exotic animals. The room itself was so plain, with nothing on the walls except for the tiny TV in the tippy-top corner of the wall (for which they had to give you the remote when you check in). The room was so tiny it was hard to squeeze by the foot of the beds. The bathroom was also tiny, with just a single stall standing shower that was not lit as part of the bathroom lighting. The room in general was just not clean, and you could feel debris sticking to your feet when walking about barefoot (shortly after checking in). The worst part about this place was that you could hear every little cough, footstep, and even turns of keys in room doors throughout the whole building the entire night and morning. It was nearly impossible to get any sleep because of this. To add to the mess, a storm came through and knocked out the power, and it seemed Hotel Le Golf was the last to get it back, resulting in a mass exodus, including us. Do yourself a favor - for the same price, stay at the Best Western up the street.
