Renting the car was a smooth experience, and the price was the best around. The car itself was very trustworthy and comfortable. It turned a difficult trip from Bogota to the Eje Cafetero and back into a relaxing drive. Returning the car was very quick and painless. We will definitely be using Localiza for future trips!

Beware of the following. In Bogota and Medellin there are days your car cannot go out. But you will be charged anyways. The agency will not tell you about it. You MUST request a hybrid car to avoid this issue. Green cars may be out every day. Also in Colombia you have to pay for washing the car once you return it.

Worst experience ever. Hidden driving permissions charges. Extra charges for carwash even though Car is completely clean. All this charges must be payed previously receiving the car. None of this extra hidden charges are notified in web, they said it was an error of the page and they reported that this charges must be placed, but, they made you pay or cancel your reservation without a refund...is a complete scam...

The address of the location is wrong. Was on a call with an Avis rep. for 30 minutes which couldn’t help me. I ended up not renting the car as the eventual rental place mentioned online that they are closing at 5pm, instead of 6pm when I planned to rent the car.

The car was the perfect model for the terrain and type of trip I made. The customer service was terrible. Pick and drop-off directions and locations were confusing. I waited for an hour just to get through the phone. Hidden fees that were not relevant to the driver. I was charged a fee for something called 'Pico y Placa,' it was well explained why I had to pay that fee. The worst customer service I had as far as car rentals go in Colombia.

not enough cars and no good communication between them.they almost let me without a car that day even i reserve it a while back. i got lucky that day but its not suppose to be like that. i got Suzuki instead a Nissan. maybe its high season,or unprofessional but i will give it another shot next time and probably give a better review.

There was no one at their boot in the airport at the appointment time , after calling a few times they told that they will be there in 5 minutes… after 10 minutes I called again and they told me that in 15-20 minutes they will be able to assist , so I called again in 20 minutes just to be delayed again! I ended up without taking the car

From the start, the CSR did not even say hello; did not answer my questions cordially and when I asked as to why, she became indignant and rude. In the contract it stated that the car had to be returned washed and cleaned, which I did (paid to have it professionally done). When I returned the vehicle, I was still charged a fee for cleaning. After I complained about it the same CSR said it didn't matter if I washed it or not that they were going to charge me a fee none the less. I paid cash for which I was not given a receipt even though I asked. There was no document showing that the vehicle was returned in good condition or that it was even returned. I was told "not to worry about it". The weekly price through KAYAK was excellent but the Customer Service experience was not desirable. I will think twice before recommending Royal Rent a Car.
