Pros:The accommodations are a very good value for the money. Being right in the middle of everything is a nice feature at night, you can walk to the bars/restaurants, shopping, marina for boating activities. The staff is very good, especially the bell hops (the one exception is the on property bar/restaurant, which is not affiliated with the resort...that staff needs a major overhaul). The apartment amenities are probably some of the best I've seen if you want or need the comforts of home. It was very clean. The beds are comfortable, the pillows are nice, the appliances are all modern and the kitchen was very well appointed. TVs in all rooms, with decent enough cable. Security on the beach and in the resort in general is very good, and its also a necessity considering the location.
Cons:This resort is for families and snowbirds on extended leave.. The beach is absolutely HORRIBLE. Its man made. The water is very very dirty, theres nothing but muck and rocks to stand on when you go in the water. The sand you see in the pictures is dirt, not sand. I didnt realize how dirty the water was til i went in - ONCE. I dunked once and became drastically sick. Its a sewer. There are a ton of large boats moored just offshore. While scenic to view from your deck, I am betting all that muck and murk in the water is bilge leakage. The pool is small and totally overrun with the whining elderly and screaming children. This is a timeshare complex that caters to long term snow bird renters who are looking for value, and families that want to let their kids run wild while they sit in a chair and ignore them. NOT my idea of a carribean vacation. If your priority is a beach vacation where being on a white sand beach with that beautiful carribean water, make another choice. We spent the remaining days on the other side of the island. Also, the island itself has changed drastically, its downright dirty now. Lots of jamaican peddlers and beggers. I have made my last trip to st. martin.

Pros:Great beach hotel, in a very convenient location. Lots of good restaurants nearby & a great beach area. We had a great 2 bedroom 2 bath condo with full kitchen. We didn't utilize the kitchen, because that is just not vacation to me. Even though the French side is known for their restaurants, we enjoyed every restaurant we at on the Dutch side. The staff was awesome. My husband left his favorite hat on the beach one day (Tommy Bahama hat...not cheap). We checked with the front desk. They did not have it, but they said they would let us know if it turned up. A couple of hours later, they called our room to say it had been found. We thought it was gone forever. Thanks guys!!
