Transferring from International to Domestic/Mainland was a PITA; Hawaiian could not handle the rebooking of bags quickly after customs, etc. Eventually took it over to Terminal One where they were able to do it quickly. The "snack" or whatever on the flight was - Pepperoni Bagel - and for anyone who doesn't eat Pepperoni, tough luck. I guess they consider it too difficult to have Plain Bagel for anyone else. We don't count; they don't want our business. Then I got to SJC and found they had smashed one corner of my (brand new) suitcase such that it wouldn't roll because that corner collapses inward. They explain to me was SOL, as "they can do anything to the outside and they're not responsible". So if you fly Hawaiian Air, expect to have to replace luggage routinely. They don't want my business, they won't get my business.
Cons:If we took the flight. It never happened
Cons:Broken backup computer not identified until 5 minutes before takeoff. Pilot said would be delayed one hour. Delayed four hours and didn’t get in until midnight, with busy day at work next day. Four hours is a lot longer than one hour. Just say four hours up front. Luckily we didn’t have to make a connecting flight. I would have been quite upset if I missed a connecting flight because they said it would only be a one hour delay and I didn’t try to switch to another flight because I was falsely told it would only be one hour.
Pros:Crew was amazing, great service
I felt Kayak wasn't very forthcoming in my reservation. It said I would need to get my seat assignments directly from Hawaiian Airlines. What Kayak DIDN'T indicate that I would have to wait until 24 hours before my flight to get seat assignments. I will never use Kayak again for future flights! As for Hawaiian Airlines, the Airbus 300 is aptly named as seats are packed so closely together there wasn't much room at all. It was the tightest packing of passengers I have ever experienced. So, other than getting us safely to our destination, the rest was pretty awful.
Our first experienced in Hawaiian Airlines was just okay. I traveled with my 2 year old and 5 year old and both kids are first time in Kona. We had delayed in San Francisco for 3 hours which is okay safety first. Originally our flight from sfo to maui to Kona since we had delayed the airlines re-route us from sfo to maui to Honolulu to Kona. I don’t know what to do I felt bad with my two kids they have been in 4 Airports and 4 airplanes going to Kona. I cried after we checked in at the courtyard Kona. It was a lot for my 2 year old and 5 year. Like I said I know it is safety first but the Airlines could have done better for people that traveling with kids. If you are in my shoes all what will you do? Anyhow, I tried to make my two kids as happy as possible while we are in Kona. I am not certain to fly Hawaiian Airlines again. Pros:Appreciate it was a direct flight. The crew was friendly. However on the return flight after my checked baggage with checked my electric Clippers were not return to buy bag. I wrote several emails and made several phone calls and received no response. I bought a replacement pair but they're not nearly as good. I'm very disappointed.
Pros:Crew was knowledgeable about islands.
Cons:There were no precautions taken due to Covid. It felt very crowded and gave us a feeling of insecurity.

Overview of Hawaiian Airlines
Hawaiian Airlines is based in Honolulu and flies to destinations across the United States, East Asia, Pacific Islands, and Oceania. Eight destinations throughout the Hawaiian Islands are serviced, with assistance from an additional hub in Kahului. A large percentage of the airline’s customers are vacationers.
Passengers can choose between Economy, Economy Comfort, and Premium Cabin. An island vibe is felt as soon as you walk on the plane, with flight attendants wearing floral-patterned shirts and flowers behind their ears. Standard Economy seats have approximately 31 in of pitch, while Economy Comfort provides an additional 5 in of room. Economy Comfort also provides a personal electrical outlet and an amenity kit. In Premium Cabin you will be welcomed into a Hawaiian-inspired setting with bamboo paneling and light blue textures. Seats can recline flat, while entertainment comes in the form of a detachable tablet.
It is owned by the Hawaiian Holdings group, which also manages the subsidiary ‘Ohana by Hawaiian. Hawaiian Airlines holds codeshare agreements with several major carriers, including United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, Japan Airlines, Turkish Airlines, and Air China. An interline partnership is also maintained with South African Airways that allows passengers to travel on multi-leg services via New York under one ticket.
Airbus and Boeing aircraft are operated by Hawaiian Airlines. The Airbus A330-200, capable of transporting approximately 278 passengers, is one of the most commonly flown models. All of the fleet are named after native Polynesian birds, such as Maile, Kalo, Lama, and Hau. The names are printed alongside the cockpit windows.
